A day off mum duties? Here’s how you can pamper yourself.

Dear Mum, 

Do you have a day to yourself and you have no clue what to do?  Wow, Isn’t that amazing, you deserve a break and it’s ok to take a break. The very first thing you would do when you get a break is maybe to try and shop for your child, at least that’s what I do. 

Filling your cup is essential, we can only pour from our cup if our cup already has something in it. When it’s running dry, what comes out is anger, frustration, tears. Over giving is what makes us run dry. What fills up your cup? Make it a priority to fill up your cup regularly.

Plan your breaks and time to fill up your cup regularly, even if it 2 hours a week. We are constantly giving to others and forget to give to ourselves.

Here are the ways you can nourish your soul and be you today! It’s your day to care for yourself and pamper yourself. To do the things you always wanted to do and never got to do. 

  1. Go Outdoors:  Go for a Nature Walk or Go for a Bike ride if you live in Amsterdam like me. Have you ever visited the

  2. Read a Book in a Cafe or by a canal

  3. Visit a cafe or a restaurant alone and nourish yourself with a lovely meal

  4. Take a train to a new place in your country - Travel nourishes our soul and really fulfils us, when we are, or become a tourist in your own city, go for a walk in a different neighbourhood!

  5. Go for a lovely massage or a spa day, or enjoy a crystal energy session with me to deeply relax your body, mind and soul and to tune into your heart

  6. Be Creative - Paint, draw, colour or join a session or a workshop for art or ceramics. A new skill or art rejuvenates our spirit like no other

  7. Visit a Museum : Ah, Did I say art inspires our and brings us back to life! If you live in Amsterdam, get the museumkaart, also great for visiting with your kids. eh, but it’s your time today! Sorry I mentioned the kids.

  8. Go for a new class go to classpass and book a class for yourself - A yoga session at De Nieuwe Yoga School is one of my ways to come back into my body and destress.

  9. Retail Therapy : ofcourse, shopping for yourself is an act of pure self love, but you don’t need anyone to tell you that.
